Linker error undefined reference to `clrscr' Why can't I use conio.h functions like clrscr, gotoxy etc? First you should note that conio.h is a Borland extension, NOT a standard header, so Dev-C and MinGW are in no way required to support it. Apr 09, 2015 Educated guess, how is 'DLLExport' defined? If it is a macro, did you define the right macro to get it defined correctly? Related question. Is the library providing the missing linking function static or shared (DLL)? This is my first time using Dev-C, and my first time making DLLs, so bear with me if I make any beginner mistakes. I have read the sticky and did what I thought was relevant to the files already, including name changes to without spaces. Salut, j'ai Dev-C et quand j'utilise la fonction gotoxy sa marche pas sa me dit: 'Linker error undefined reference to `gotoxy' ld returned 1 exit status.

and in particular the decoder that exists in the folder mpeg2v12.zip.
It is code c written for gcc, so I decided to download MinGW and DevC/C++. I add all the files to the project and then clicked compile.Compilation always stops though because of errors with the linker:

Mar 06, 2016 Those functions are very specific to Windows, as is the 'conio.h' header, which is very outdated - not all implementations support this header or all of its functions. There's a FAQ here that tells you how to implement your own 'gotoxy' in Windows: gotoxy and textcolor - error: undefined reference. Jun 19, 2010 Thanks a lot for helping me with this. Not the console closing was the problem (I admit I had that problem with 'Hello, world!' :P but I just used system, I know it a bad habit, but I promise I'll get rid of that when I finish this book I'm reading on C).
:'( I am trying to solve this problem the whole day.I tried rebuild all, clean, compile, with all possible combinations but nothing worked.
I noticed though while googling a lot of links reporting linker errors with dev-c++.

I am just started learning C and C++ and I feel very discouraged...:(
Anybody any idea?

That error means it can not find the function cpu_features_init() in any of the file it compiled or in any of the libraries it is trying to link.
Check out those warnings -- they might actually be errors which are causing that link problem.

You may want to investigate makefiles. Then you can use your favorite editor and still write modular code the correct way.
I just had a glance at how to write makefiles. Looks messy(will look into that later). So opened Dev C++ instead, and tried to work with projects for the first time in DevC++( used visual C++ projects bfor though). The program compiles without error but i get errors while linking, saying undefined reference to xyz. Obviously the linker is not finding the definitions of the declared functions. I did include the .cpp files containing the definitions in my project, but still getting the same errors. What should i do?
